German national insignias - aircraft |
---|
The German national insignia was placed on both wings and the fuselage.
***
1936 to 1945: The insignia on the left was used during the Nazi period and consisted of a straight black cross on white. Many aircraft added a wider stripe from 1940 to 1945 as seen on the right. (Many different variations of this insignia were used during the war).
***
A black swastika on a white disc, was placed on the rudder of German aircraft, signifying the Nazi Party.
