Civilian Defense poster
The Office of Civilian Defense (OCD) was created in 1941 to organized and supervise civilian defense efforts at home. It included such organizations as the Civilian Air Patrol (CAP) which provided search and rescue capabilities and patrolled U.S. boarders.
