Landing in Sword Beach area
This photo shows British Commandos landing from an LCI(S) (Landing Craft Infantry Small) on Queen Red Beach, a subdivision of Sword Beach. The nearest figure is the brigade's bagpiper. Note that the men are wearing berets. The British soldiers tended to not wear their steel helmets unless to do so. Mostly Sherman tanks can be seen on the beach, and possibly a DD tank.
